A passion for fitness and competition
A lifelong athlete, Mikaela played basketball from an early age until an injury stopped her journey in the sport. Rehabilitation from her injury found her making her way to the gym for the first time, but it didn’t satisfy her competitive edge.
In 2014, she picked up CrossFit, and this type of competitive fitness training became her new passion. She eventually picked up other workout methodologies, specifically the fitness racing method Hyrox.
“I actually broke a new world record at my first competition in Hyrox in November 2023,” she shares.
Developing a fitness page online
Mikaela had no prior experience in website building and very little know-how to start off with.
“I wanted to learn and build it myself,” she says, “but I needed support to get through all the questions that popped up along the way.”
She used one.com’s Website Builder to build her website, eventually connecting it to WordPress to be able to easily link her existing blog where she shares about her experiences with health and fitness.

Patience and courage – the keys to both fitness and website creation
Mikaela emphasises the importance of patience and facing challenges head-on.
“I think that too many drop the faith in themselves instead of having the patience to follow and work through the process,” Mikaela reflects.
“I believe you can do whatever you want, it’s just a matter of time and how much effort that requires.”
